I have been a professor of physics at LeTourneau University since 2001. I graduated from Baker University in Kansas, majoring in mathematics and physics. I completed my Ph.D. in experimental high energy physics in 1989 with the University of Kansas with a focus on hadronic B meson decays. My work with the ARGUS Collaboration in Germany led to post-doctoral appointments with the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics, then Cornell University, resulting in over 100 articles in refereed journals.
I then taught at Bethel College in Indiana from 1993 until following the call to come to LeTourneau University. I have taught introductory physical science, astronomy, creation and evolution, and cosmology in addition to a broad range of undergraduate physics courses. My passion lies in finding a meaningful fit between science and biblical faith. This led me to write three articles as student resources on the topics of Big Bang cosmology, the age of the Earth and plate tectonics (links found below.) One goal of this work is to be a voice of reason in the midst of the emotional conflict between science and Biblical faith, helping to show that both are mutually supportive.
