Center for Academic Ministry

Christian universities have an unparalleled opportunity to impact generations for Christ, but only if they stay firmly rooted in their Christian missions. At LeTourneau University, we’re actively investing in deepening that mission. History shows that the faithfulness of Christian universities to their missions can be judged by the degree to which they integrate faith into every course and campus experience. This crucial ability is gained or lost one faculty member at a time. The Center for Academic Ministry is a comprehensive investment in equipping faculty and staff to anchor and deepen our Christian identity.

Our commitment to integrating faith and learning is the linchpin of LeTourneau University’s mission and our promise as The Christian Polytechnic University.
quote markLeTourneau University is many things, but at its root, it is an academic ministry. In its essence, that means, first, that the Gospel is the aim and animating impulse of our mission and, second, that our work responds particularly to an academic calling - through teaching, learning, growth, and scholarship in community. Like a parachurch organization, we steward a set of gifts, expertise, and resources that come alongside the local and universal church to advance the Kingdom of God. ”

One employee at a time

The Center for Academic Ministry starts with faculty and staff committed to vibrant personal faith, regular participation in a church, and deepening understanding of God, scripture, and the world. It fosters robust, thoughtful engagement the relationship between faith and academic work. It then helps faculty and staff practically incorporate this growth into their teaching, work, scholarship, and mentoring. It does this through:
