Verification is a process by which the university reviews the reported information on the FAFSA if it is selected by the Department of Education. Selection for verification does not imply that you have made an error or made false statements. At least 30 percent of all FAFSA applications filed are selected for verification.
If you are selected for verification, you will be notified through your LeTourneau email account and asked to provide documentation to support the information that you reported. You will be able to see what documents are required (in an awaiting status) in MyLETU at https://my.letu.edu/ics under the Financial Aid tab in Document Tracking.
ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE RECEIVED BY OUR OFFICE BY AUGUST 1ST.
New Residential Students, if selected for verification:
For new residential students, we will be unable to disburse any financial aid funds until verification is complete. Any student whose FAFSA is not verified by the end of the semester will not be allowed to register for the next semester.
Returning Residential Students & all On-line Students, if selected for verification:
For returning residential and all on-line students, financial aid will not be awarded until verification has been completed. This could affect the confirmation of your courses for the next term.
