SCHEDULE: Office hours are primarily weekdays from 8am to 5pm. Responsibilities occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible for maintaining the LETU office, lab, kiosk, conference, and classroom technology infrastructure. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to limiting risk common from these type of computers to LETU, maintaining current software including their operating systems and standard software, e.g., Microsoft Office. These roles can be summarized in maintaining a well-managed desktop environment
  • Maintains an inventory of installed software, manages software licensing, and creates policies and procedures for upgrades
  • Coordinates renewal of campus software licensing including software renewal, user inventory, and user billing
  • Works with AV Technology and Technical Services Coordinators to manage the replacement of computers for Learning Spaces such as classrooms and conference rooms, as well as replacement cycle, kiosks, student workers, etc.
  • Resolves escalated user issues
  • Identifies recurring user problems and looks for solutions
  • Answers technical support questions
  • Manages in-house computer systems
  • Processes ServiceDesk queues
  • Manages a KnowledgeBase for knowledge transfer and training
  • Participates in special projects involving technology upgrades and implementation of new software
  • Responsible for LETU strategic technology goals as they relate to USE
  • Responsible as liaison between Network and Business Systems Management teams, including, but not limited to new software or hardware brought into LETU, as well as new infrastructure presented including insuring any KB or FAQ and training is provided to these teams
  • Responsible as liaison with CDT, including, but not limited providing technology for LETU faculty and degree program technology needs
  • Responsible for the work order tracking and negotiating, writing, and reporting on internal and external Service Level Agreements for USE
  • Responsible to keep the Director of USE up to date on important LETU changes and decisions
  • Responsible to keep policy and procedures up to date as they relate to USE
  • Responsible for communicating to specific departments around LETU concerning technology and services provided by USE; this includes but is not limited to proactive and regular communication with faculty, staff and students
  • Provides thorough documentation concerning processes and procedures provided by the ESDC position
  • Provides guidance and direction concerning the LetNet policies including but not limited to those policies as they relate to Faculty, Staff and Students and their interaction with technology
  • Responsible for monitoring Deployment response times, evaluating user satisfaction levels, and making recommendations for improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or minimum of five years field experience.

As a full-time staff member of User Support and Engagement (USE), this position reflects the department’s Director, the IT department, the CIO, and most importantly Christ in the service IT offers to LETU. This person must reflect His character and the vision and goals of IT and LETU.
