POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Brand Videographer is responsible for utilizing their unique creative filmmaking and storytelling talent to discover and produce content that communicates the saga and reinforces the strategic brand messaging of The Christian Polytechnic University. This individual is responsible for creating informative, high-impact content and compelling visual stories for regular distribution on the university’s primary marketing and communications platforms. These include but are not limited to the university website, social media properties, video channels, and social and digital advertising. Under the direction of the Director for Content and Communications, this position will work as a part of an agile team of content creators, creative designers, videographers, and photographers to produce, refine, and enhance creative projects that advance the university brand.

The Brand Videographer:

  • Directs, enriches, and activates all university branded video content. Consistently leads and contributes to the creation of compelling video content that communicatesThe Christian Polytechnic story and brings relevant value to university constituents across all media platforms.
  • Maintains, advances, and maximizes University Marketing and Communications video operations, including equipment, the in-house studio space, software, logistics, and staff. Assures all video output is best-of-class and aligns with the university’s brand identity, both philosophically and visually. Creates, maintains, and updates the systems, processes, hardware, and software required to assure both video operations and creative output are expressions of excellence reflective of The Christian Polytechnic University.
  • Fully leverages the utilization of the University Marketing & Communications in-house studio and nimbly balances production and post-production workload demands. Organization and attention to detail are key.
  • Manages the in-house student worker staffed media team, including the training and development.
  • Possesses a sharp eye and ear that results in pristine audio and visual excellence. Fully leverages all available audio and video post-production software to achieve this goal. This commitment to excellence extends to asset management, transcoding, titling, audio mixing, color grading, and media export.
  • Creative visualization must be second nature; can speak the language of scripts and storyboards. Must balance this creativity with intentional organization and structured processes that operationalize video production for the sake of fluidity and efficiency.
  • Consistently proves a commitment to meeting deadlines and project timelines without sacrificing quality.
  • Individually contributes to high-quality brand videography. Involved in ‘in-the-field’ video content capture to equip the video team with a best-in-class cinematic stockpile of footage to fuel creative projects.
  • Owns all technical aspects of video operations, empowering the Brand Videographer to creatively approach content capture and video development in ‘in-the-field filmmaker’ mode. Committedly contributes to the practical day-to-day management of footage and project organization.
  • Approaches work through a creative lens as a visual storyteller throughout the whole of the process, conceptualizing original ideas for videos used in marketing and advertising, storyboarding, crafting the visual narrative, editing, and polishing the finished product. Assures thoughtful distribution.
  • Takes a lead role in coordinating and maintaining production timelines with talent and support staff.
  • Takes a lead role in event and video shoot logistics and provides professional on-site directing.
  • Researches and implements new multimedia techniques to keep videos relevant to an ever-evolving audience.
  • Develops key ongoing relationships with students, faculty and other constituents to gather and maintain relevant content, which requires a strong verbal and written communication skills (for collaborating with clients and members of the production team).
  • Originates a creative approach and style of storytelling through video, audio, and motion graphics that fit within the context of the LeTourneau University visual brand identity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. MFA or experience in higher education a plus. A robust portfolio and extensive knowledge and proficiency utilizing the latest digital software packages including the Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, Blackmagic Design products, Microsoft Office products, video and photo editing applications, and layout tools. Demonstrated excellence in digital content coordination, graphic design, photography, social media, videography, and a high degree of innovation throughout the professional portfolio; excellent analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills for visual information design; strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; the ability to function as a part of a multidisciplinary team; the stamina to produce high-quality content in a fast-paced work environment; proficiency with state-of-the-art software and hardware to produce accurate and innovative multimedia projects; and the ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies to meet customer needs.
