SCHEDULE:

Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities may occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that may include evenings and weekends.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain receivable accounts for various student related accounts (including but not limited to trips accounts and rent accounts).
  • Review and process transactions related to ex-student collections.  Manage monthly reconciliation of ex-student accounts and student inquires and requests related to accounts in collections. Process monthly analysis for bad debt and year end processes.  Process payments for vendors.
  • Maintain the relationships with 3rd party billing and collection agencies. 
  • Perkins Loan Program management.  This primarily focuses on accounts in repayment and the draw down by the Department of Education for the Perkins program.
  • Process and manage procedures related to the posting of billing charges and financial aid funds.
  • Coordinate and process posting of transactions for activity related to the student account coming from other software packages or from outside vendors and agencies.
  • Provide reconciliation and end of day process support for the Cashier’s Office
  • Provide support for year-end audits through process management and report preparation.
  • Review accounts and authorize the release of transcripts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in accounting and customer service (account reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivables)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or combination of college credit hours and related experience.
  • Enjoy working with customers – students, parents and third parties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both orally and in written format.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
