The Systems Support Analyst position is an entry level position in the Business Systems Management (BSM) department which requires moderate education, experience, expertise, skill level, and leadership, with an emphasis on growing each of these areas to the next level of maturity. This position performs entry level analysis, programming duties, administrative duties, and user support and maintenance tasks in the development, implementation, and support of information technology systems. The Systems Support Analyst will work closely with fellow Business Systems Management team members to analyze user information technology needs and provide routine recommendations.

  • Maintains primary responsibility for managing account access for new hires and faculty/staff changing positions, as well as removal of access for separations and aid in facilitating the remaining technology needs with the other IT departments.
  • Responds to user queries and help requests initiated within the IT service desk application.
  • Gathers information related to incidents or issues, determines the root cause of the problem and devises solutions to resolve users’ issues or assists in triaging for other BSM team members.
  • Manages the flow of incoming support requests and escalates issues to those primarily responsible for the system experiencing the issue.
  • Aids other Business Systems Management team members in the operation of the department including but not limited to software research and analysis, inter-departmental communications, and general issue follow-up.
  • Coordinates and follows through with tasks and/or projects assigned.
  • Works in partnership with other BSM Team members on tasks to learn, grow, and contribute.
  • Performs minor programming, analysis and system support with guidance and direction from other team members to assure the use of best practices and tools which follow proven technologies.
  • Performs minor testing and evaluation of assigned tasks and/or projects to assist other team members and to assure minor processing/programming tasks deliver intended results.
  • Maintains a personal training plan appropriate to support role on the team, growing skills with programming development & languages, applicable technologies, project management, and communication, to facilitate professional growth and advancement.
  • Promotes a positive, productive relationship between IT and the LETU community.
  • Assists or coordinates with all IT staff to ensure successful resolution of system issues within the scope of this position.
  • Assists other IT divisions as requested and approved by the Director of BSM.
  • Assists with administrative duties for the Director of BSM or other team members as necessary.
  • Performs other jobs/tasks in furtherance of this position's role as assigned by the Director of BSM.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent "people skills" to facilitate well-received and highly effective interactions with students, faculty, and other staff in the handling of each request.
  • Ability to multi-task and move multiple issues or projects forward simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • High personal integrity appropriate for working with confidential and critical data and data systems.
  • Strong technical skills and the desire to expand those skills.
  • An associate degree or some college and office experience preferred.
  • Interest in or intention to pursue Computer Science or Management Information Systems related profession or degree strongly preferred.
  • Training/experience with SQL, PowerShell, JSON, REST APIs, C#, a plus.
  • Successful candidate will demonstrate genuine desire to learn and grow professionally in an environment requiring management of many divergent and pressing tasks simultaneously.
