Professional Experience

Laurie Shelton has over 25 years’ experience in a broad range of accounting and financial activities.   She offers an array of skills in financial reporting, budget planning, forecasting, accounting, team management, cross-functional collaboration, and productivity analysis.  She has a track record of success in uncovering opportunities to improve financial growth, streamline processes and internal controls. 

Laurie joined the university in July 2015 and has been the Controller since 2019.  She enjoys the Christian environment and fellowship.  Laurie has served as a small group leader on campus and on the Global Leadership Summit Team.

Prior to LeTourneau, Laurie worked with companies of all sizes including small to medium sized businesses, a CPA tax firm, a 501c3 nonprofit, and a large international publicly traded company.  In 2009, she was invited to a Leadership Summit at her church which led to a growth journey and unexpected passion about Leadership Development that continues today. 

Laurie received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. 

Personal Background

In her free time, Laurie enjoys family, hiking, tennis, volunteering, traveling, and reading.  She regularly serves in her church and community.  She has been a volunteer board member for various local organizations since 2005.
