Professional Experience
Steve came to LeTourneau in 2010 as the Director of Student Programs and Orientation. Since then he has had the opportunity to be a part of a wide range of programs and activities that shape the student experience at LeTourneau. He has worked with orientation, student activities, clubs and organizations, the yearbook, the school newspaper, Intramurals, IMPACT student leadership, commuter support, Cornerstones, CARE team, and student senate. Steve now serves as the Dean of Students and is a part of shaping and supporting students’ experiences outside the classroom. His professional interests include student success, The Freshmen year experiences, residence life, educational programming, and positive psychology.
Personal Background
Steve came to LeTourneau because he knew he wanted to minister to students in the college setting, and he has been so blessed by the experience. He and his wife, Cortney, are both from the Midwest and were nervous about moving across the country to LETU, but have fallen in love with the school and this community in Texas. They now live right off campus with their three children, attend church at Longview Christian Church, and love being YellowJackets.
Personal Statement
My favorite verse is John 8:32. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. I want our students to experience freedom in Christ as they learn and grow more into his likeness. It is my hope that my work at LeTourneau somehow contributes to their experience in a way that honors God and enriches their lives.
