A biology degree from LeTourneau University will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the diverse forms, systems and processes of life on earth.
Through in-depth classroom discussion and hands-on training in our state-of-the-art laboratories and in the field, you will learn about complex and fascinating systems of life from an informed perspective grounded in Christian faith that will prepare you for a successful career.
Students also earn classroom credit through real-world experience, including:
- Virus Hunters - LETU participates in a national research program sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. In this program, students isolate previously unidentified viruses from the environment, characterizing them and sequencing and annotating their genomes. This information is then collected, with the hopes of finding viruses that would be effective on combating bacteria. Then, students present the results of their research at academic conferences and publish data in scientific journals.
- Internships - gain practical experience and begin building your network.
- Clinical Observation/Clinical Issues - shadow and engage in conversations with professionals in the field.
