LeTourneau University's educator preparation programs place an emphasis on real-world application, and learning takes place in a community of faith where personal and professional relationships are cultivated. We strive to prepare effective, caring, and knowledgeable Christian educators for future service in public or private schools.

The certification office serves all LeTourneau University educator preparation programs, which includes those offered both online and in-person at our main campus in Longview, Texas..

Since you have selected a LeTourneau University educator preparation program, the certification office is here to support you as you work toward obtaining Texas educator credentials.


If you believe you have a complaint concerning the Educator Preparation Program, please contact your academic advisor. Complaints will be heard and resolved informally, if possible. If the complaint is not resolved, you may appeal to the program chair. For issues or complaints about this educator preparation program that cannot be resolved by the program chair, you may contact the Texas Education Agency, Complaints (located in the blue banner at the bottom of the home page), or mail to Correspondence Management, Communications Division, Texas Education Agency, 1701 North Congress, Austin, TX 79701-1494.

RENEWING YOUR STANDARD CERTIFICATE

Congratulations on earning a standard Texas Teacher or Principal certificate!
Remember that you will need to take action in order to keep your credentials up-to-date.
Detailed information concerning certificate renewal is posted at the TEA Web site.

 

ADDING ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATION AREAS

Once you receive your initial teacher certification, you can add additional certification areas to your credentials by taking additional examinations. Check out the TEA Web site for detailed information. The process is simple and will not require assistance from your educator preparation program. After certification has posted, you can register HERE or take any content exam that you chose. Consider referring to the study guides so you'll know how to prepare for the additional exams that you would like to take.

  • Interactive Practice Tests – Available for PPR EC-12 (#160), Mathematics 7-12 (#235), Science 7-12 (#236) and Principal as Instructional Leader (#268).  There is a fee of $10 for each interactive practice test.
