Background

 

My favorite thing about civil and environmental engineering is seemingly a contradiction, that every project is completely technical and yet completely personal – that the simple purpose of the most complicated design is to improve the quality of life for other people.  We see and benefit from the impact of civil and environmental engineers all around us, though it often goes unnoticed.  Whether it is providing clean water to drink, safe structures in which to live and work, drainage systems to remove water after the storm, or protection of the environment for future generations, we make the world a better place for the people around us. 

I have had the privilege of teaching at LeTourneau since the first class of civil engineers graduates.  And while I love teaching in the classroom, I most enjoy being in the lab with my students building, testing, and being present for the “lightbulb moments,” moments when the theoretical concepts become realized.  

I enjoy spending time with my family going camping & hiking, 3D printing, and reading.  I serve in our local church as a deacon and as Treasurer.
