Ashley is from Longview and graduated from LeTourneau in 2015 with her Bachelors in Cross-Cultural Ministry. For her internship, she taught English two summers in a row to middle school students in Hong Kong. This is when she felt her calling to go overseas to be an ESL teacher.
She moved to Cambodia in August 2016 thinking she’d stay for one year to teach English. It then turned into 7 wonderful years of calling Cambodia home. She taught at 3 different schools and was the team leader and school liaison for 5 out of the 7 years. She mainly taught English to freshman in college and held English clubs outside of school hours. She also invested her time at a local church by playing guitar on the worship team, welcoming people, and helping with outreach events.
At the beginning of 2023, she felt God was leading her out of the mission field and to come back to the states. She returned to the states in October 2023 and wasn’t sure what her next plans were. A few months after returning home, God opened the door for her to work at LeTourneau. She is very thankful how God has had His hand over her plans and provided for her since returning to the states.
