WHAT IS THE STUDENT EXCHANGE VISITOR INFORMATION SYSTEM (SEVIS)?
SEVIS (the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) is an internet-based tracking system that allows immigration information of F-1 and J-1 students to be electronically transmitted from the university to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The information is also shared with US Embassies and Consulates.
WHO IS MY DESIGNATED SCHOOL OFFICIAL (DSO)?
At schools authorized to receive international students, one or more Designated School Officials (DSOs) are chosen by the school as official representatives to the US government and authorized by the government to issue F-1 class non-immigrant student visa-related documents.
