About RGRD
RG Research and Development, Inc., (RGRD) is a Texas non-profit corporation established by the LeTourneau Board of Trustees to support the mission and vision of LeTourneau University.
The goal of RGRD is to explore and develop innovative opportunities in the education space as well as related goods and services that can benefit LeTourneau University. RGRD seeks to promote original ideas, offerings, and products from LETU faculty, staff, and students. This investment in areas like intellectual property commercialization and business formation or acquisition benefits all parts of the LeTourneau community as well as the world of business more broadly.
Patent Application and Business Creation
LETU's founder, R.G. LeTourneau, claimed his own ingenuity by acquiring hundreds of patents for all the machines he invented. Today, RGRD helps the LETU community apply for and acquire patents on their unique IP. Many LETU faculty members are inventors and have already been awarded patents, including Dr. Glyn Gowing and Dr. Curtis Wesley.
If you think you have a novel idea and want to claim it as your intellectual property, let RGRD support you in claiming your ingenuity. Then, RGRD and the Center for Free Enterprise & Entrepreneurial Leadership in the School of Business at LETU can help you develop a business and marketing plan to truly make your idea come to life.
RGRD Student Scholarship
RGRD also supports student entrepreneurship and innovation at LeTourneau University through the annual RG Research & Development Scholarship Competition. As part of this competition, prospective students are invited to develop and pitch their own business idea, culminating in an in-person interview on campus in Longview, TX. The winner is awarded a 4-year, full-tuition scholarship to LETU.
