SCHEDULE:

This is a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track position with rank negotiable based on experience. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily on weekdays but may include occasional evening or weekend responsibilities. Attendance is required at typical faculty and administrative meetings including graduation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

LeTourneau University is seeking an exceptional educator with a strong Christian faith to teach and serve within the Department of Computer Science, teaching courses in the areas of cybersecurity, software engineering, game development and the supporting subfields of databases, operating systems, networks, architecture, and artificial intelligence. Research and teaching experience are highly desired.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach a full-time load of lower and upper division computer science courses in a practical, hands-on program
  • Directing student projects and research
  • Establish and nurture ongoing partnerships with technology related companies.
  • Prepare course materials and assignments
  • Contribute to ongoing curriculum review and development
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Genuine support of LeTourneau University's Faith Statement and Community Covenant and enthusiasm for integrating faith and learning in the classroom
  • An earned doctorate in the field of computer science, cybersecurity or a closely related field from an accredited university
  • Experience in the computing industry or research applicable to the training and direction of undergraduate computer science student activities
  • A strong interest and commitment to teaching, research, and advising at the undergraduate level
  • A demonstrated ability to relate to students and communicate subject material using contemporary methods
  • The ability to interact effectively and professionally with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • College level teaching experience is preferred in one or more of the following areas:  cyber security, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and/or game development.
